Abstract

One of the the critical grades of steel produced by United States Steel Corporation is the high-carbon (0.73% to 0.80%) heat-treated steel for USS CURVE-MASTER extended life rail. As the name implies, where abrasive wear and stresses are the greatest. The steel, therefore, must have mechanical properties sufficient to withstand severe wear and fatigue loading.
