Abstract

The first paper for summary is by Datar, Iyengar, Sridhar and Rao from Rourkela Steel Plant, India, the title of the paper being "Impact of raw material quality on the performance of LD Shops. The authors begin the paper by indicating the variations in the quality of hot metal and emphasise that such variations in sulphur, silicon and manganese contents in the hot metal play havoc with LD operations at the steel-melting shops.
