Abstract
The polarisation behaviour of 3003 aluminium in nitro-benzene aniline, O-Cresol and p-cresol has been studies using potentiostatic method. Effect of water and chloride ions on the nature of the polarisation method. Effect of water and chloride ions on the nature of the polarisation curves has also been found out. S-shaped anodic curves showing active passive nature have been obtained in nitro-benzene and in p-cresol containing water. Two passivation regions have been noticed in p-cresol having water and potassium chloride. Similar cathodic polarisation curves have been traced out in all cases except the curve at higher potential for nitrobenzene.
