Abstract
Manganese dioxide is used in dry cell technology as a depolarizer. Although India is one of the largest manganese ore producing countries, its contribution to
the production of battery active manganese ore is insign-ificant as it lacks the crystalline gamma structure, chara-cteristic of manganese dioxide for use as a depolarizer in dry cell industry.
