Abstract
A process has been developed for production of activated manganese dioxide by chemical treatment of pyrolusite type of manganese ore (no reduction) in cyles with spent elect-rolyte from electrolytic manganese dioxide cells. The regenerated manganese sulphate is used in the cell to produce EMD.
