Abstract
Though precipitations of AIN at the austentic grain boundaries are commonly believed to inhibit grain growth of aluminium killed steel, few direct evidences of the same have been published. This paper presents such evi-dence conclusively on the basis of in-site electron micro-scopic and microprobe studies, carried out on a steel containing 0.04% AI.
