Abstract
The demand for copper has been estimated at 84900 tonnes for the year 1969-70 and is expected to go upto 124000 tonnes by 1973-74, Against this impressive demand, the present annual production capacity of 9600 tonnes is very meagre. This huge imbalance of demand and production have necessitated the exploration of workable deposits of copper and their development for economic exploitation.
