Abstract
Iron ore deposits found in many parts of kerala -- Investigations by the State Geological Department have revealed the existence of large deposits of iron ore in various parts of Kozhikode district, according to the report of the department for 1964-65. The report said that prospecting operations conducted in six places in the district had revealed the existence of an estimated 15 million tonnes of iron ore deposits. An estimated 0.4 million tonnes of quartz magnetite with a low iron content had also been located in four places in Ernakulam.
