Abstract
Improved coatings protect steel tanks from acid - Two Two new coating systems have been developed by Ceilcote Co., Cleveland, Ohio to protect industrial plating and storage tanks from attack by water, alkalis and acids. The first, a 'laminated glass fibre and 'filled bisphetol polyester resin system provides an exceptionally hard, tightly bonded liner in steel tanks. The cured coating resists dilute mineral . acids and alkalis, most salts and organic chemicals at temperatures up to 160°F. Applied 1/8' in thick, the lining is also claimed to be especially effective for protecting steel from attack by concen-trated acids, such as hydrochloric and phosphoric which are found in pickling and plating processes.
