Abstract

Use of common, regular character of the reduction curves (reduction percent vs. time) of ores and sintered mate-rials permitted an approximate mathematical description of reduction as a function of time, and consequently, as a function of temperature and gas composition, in shaft furnaces. This is particularly important in studying the behaviour of such materials in the blast furnace.
