N.M.L. - a year in retrospect

Abstract

THE National Metallurgical Laboratory has now completed its seventh year of existence. Its research programme has been streamlined and is directed towards the discovery of effective uses of indigenous raw materials and development of substitute alloys to replace, those imported at consi-derable expenditure of foreign exchange. Efforts in these and allied fields have been stepped up pani passu with the development of Indian metal industries under the powerful stimulus of the Five Year Plans of the Government of India.
