Abstract

AMONG the several metallurgical processes for recovery of nickel from sulphide ores, hydrometallurg1cal process of pressure leaching with ammonia in the presence of air or oxygen has been one of the well established processes practised.1-4 The advantages claimed for the process are easy separation and recovery of copper and nickel with elimination of iron as hydrated iron oxide, the conversion and recovery of sulphur as ammonium sulphate.
