Abstract

ORES and minerals are wasting assets which occur in nature and their use as raw materials in different mineral based industries needs very systematic and scientific approach in rationalising these resources for the development of the country's economy so that they can be utilized for as long a period as possible to the best of their advantage in terms of quality and quantity with minimum or no wastage whatsoever. This rational utilization of the mineral resources can very well be achieved by adopting the latest ore-beneficiation methods. These methods are well developed in recent times and can be very much applicable if the beneficiation problems of the low grade ores and minerals are properly understood. A proper understanding of these problems related to them can be achieved by knowing fully well their basic and most important characteristics like physical properties, chemical analysis and mineral-ogical nature which would actually reflect the nature of formation of these ores and mineral deposits in a broad manner.
