Abstract

SANDS basically contain Si0, with varying amounts of impurities like felspars, which contribute alkalies and rendering them useless for foundry work and iron bearing minerals which are objectionable for glass and ceramic industries. Sand samples from various parts of the country were tested for their amenability for use in the foundries and glass making.
