Abstract

FLUORSPAR is an essential mineral in the metallurgical industry and is used as a flux. It is also used in the manufacture of synthetic cryolite, and is the only source for the production of hydrofloric acid for the chemical industry. Deposits of fluorspar are located in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat. The Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation have set up a plant for the beneficiation of fluorspar and before that, they used to hand-pick the flourspar for marketing.
