Abstract
Tensile and impact tests have been made on various carburizing steels heat -treated in sizes ranging from
l/2 in. up to 4 in. diameter. The materials covered the older standard steels generally used in Britain, and the various standard ` substitute' steels which have been introduced because of alloy shortages, and a comparison has been made between them.
