Abstract

As the availability of alloying elements for the iron and steel industry in Britain tends to stabilize, a review of the current developments in the alloy and special steel field reveals an interesting story of continual and Healthy progress. Reference is made to some low-alloy high-strength steels, heat-resistant varieties, tool and die steels, magnetic types, and corrosion-resistant and comp-osite steels, now in production.
