Abstract
Pilot Plant tests were conducted to produce 60 ton s of high-grade concentrate from a 1ow grade magnetite ore from Salem, Madras, as saying 36.513 Fe, 44.88% Si0o. The concentrate obtained by wet magnetic separation assayed 65.62% Fe, 7.74% Si0, with a recovery of 90,8% Fe in the product. A higher grade of con cent rate assaying 70.4% Fe, 2.74% Si0, with a recovery of 88.8% Te could be obtained by a second stage magnetic separation of the primary concentrate if required.
