Haastert, H P (1981) Review on Ladle Metallurgy in Steelmaking. In: Proceedings of International Symposium on Modern Developments in Steelmaking, 1981, NML, Jamshedpur.
Treatment of steel in the ladle as measure of supple-menting melting shop metallurgy has had a long tradition. With the need for economical production ov higher-strength steel, and with the requirement to rationalize and ensure a safe operation, an accelerated structural change began in the steel industry approximately 20 years ago, as a result of which ladle metallurgy emerged as an independent process step.
