Solid state reaction characteristics of powders prepared by spray drying the mixed nitrate solutions of Ph, Zr, Ti as well as Ph, Zr, Ti, La and Na have been studied using DTA-TGA and XRD techniques. A relatively lower calcination temperature was found sufficient for formation of PZT/PLNZT indicating better homogeneity in the spray dried powders.
