Abstract
N0 Satisfactorily formula for the evaluation of the physical quality of coke in terms of blast furnace performance has been developed, but it is generally conceded that, since one of the primary functions of coke is to support heavy burdens and allow easy low of gases upward through the charge, maximum strength is desirable. This is particularly so for furnaces with large working volumes.
