Properties of Indian pouring pit refractories: Pt-1 nozzles

Abstract

Devising standards for nozzles on the basis of a few physical tests is a difficult task. It is, however, necessary to draw some workable specifications. Tests undertaken for this purpose are discussed in this paper. A brief literature survey outlines the general trend of thinking of the subject. Properties of nozzles of Indian manufacture have been tabulated and compared with properties of those in use in other countries.
