Abstract
Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controllers are very popular today to precisely control process variable. They have assumed even greater importance in the wake of ISO 9000. The specifications supplied by manufacturer are often full of jargons, which are beyond the comprehension of users. In this paper an attempt has been made to discuss the crucial features of PID controllers to make them user friendly.
