Abstract
The conventional methods of decomposition of chrome ore and chrome bearing material is carried out by fusing the sample with Na2O2. But the flux is not very stable and at the same time very costly. So an alternative simple method of decomposition has been recommended by reacting the ores with H3PO4 (condensed). The resultant fused mass was dissolved in acid or water. Al, Fe and Mg in the solution were estimated by Atomic Absorption Spectrometry.
