Abstract
Barite, an industrial mineral, is commercially known as heavy spar and is the only natural source of barium and barium compounds. In this paper an attempt has been made to present briefly the mode of occurrence, mineralogical characteristics and beneficiation aspects of three samples, one from Kingdom of Bhutan and two from Hindustan Zinc Ltd, Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. The results of beneficiation studies on the samples have been discussed.
