Alloy, tool and special steel during Third Plan -- A prod-uction target of 200,000 tons of alloy, tool and special steels per year has been provided in the Third Five Year Plan. The public sector is expected to contribute up to 130,000 tons whereas the contribution from private sector is expected to be 70,000 tons. Part of the output in the public sector-about 30,000 tons of transformer grade electrical steel sheets is expected to be planned and produced under the expansion programmes of the Rourkela Steel Plant. The output of the Ordnance factories is exp-ected to amount to about 50,000 tons per year. The balance of 50,000 tons will be produced in a new unit which will be put up during the plan period.
