Abstract

The reactivity of coke, or carbonized fuel towards carbon dioxide and oxygen is of significance for iron smelting in blast furnace or in a low-shaft furnace. A simple method for comparative evaluation of reactivity of solid fuels has been developed. The effect of temperature and inorganic additions on reactivity have been studied.
