Abstract

The paper describes in detail results of studies on the galvanic corrosion of metals and alloys in the atmosphere of Jamshedpur carried out for a year using bolt and wire specimens. The results gave interesting data. Of all the metals tested, aluminium and zinc were (found to show the most marked effect of coupling. Copper, Cu-Ni-Zn alloys, etc. did not show, in general, much effect of coupling. (Mr. S. Rao, Addanki, Senior Scientific Assistant; Mr. K.P. Mukherjee, Junior Scientific Officer and Mr. A.K. Lahiri, Senior Scientific Officer, National Metallurgical Laboratory)
