Abstract
The sand sample designated GSI VI was received from the Geological Survey of India, Tamil Nadu Circle to study its suitability for foundry moulding purposes. The sand sample is reported to have been collected from a deposit cast of Nanganarkuppam near the seashore east of Cheyur (66 D/3=4; 12°21’:80°.00’). The sand as received was deep grey in colour.
