Abstract

The Sand Sample designated GSI III was received from the Geological Survey of India, Tamil Nadu Circle. The sand sample is reported to have been collected from a deposit occurring West of Nanganarkuppam near the seashore east of Cheyur (66 D/3 + 4; 12°21’: 80°00’). The sand sample was invested at the NML Foundry Station, Madras with a view to studying its suitability for foundry moulding purposes. The sand as received was light grey in colour
