Abstract
The Sand Sample received from the Geological Survey of India is reported to have been collected from a fairly big deposit at Baltora in the Dubchururia area in the Purulia district of West Bengal. This sand was investigated at the NML Foundry Station, Industrial Estate, Howrah, with a view to studying its suitability for foundry moulding purposes. The sand sample was yellowish brown in colour in the ‘As received’ condition.
