Abstract
The sand sample received from the Geological Survey of India is reported to have been collected from a fairly big deposit at Rampur in the Dubchururia area in the Purulia District of West Bengal. This sand was investigated at NML Foundry Station, Industrial Estate, Howrah, with a view to studying its suitability for foundry moulding purposes. The sand sample was pale white in colour in the ‘As Received’ condition.
