Abstract

The sand sample No.CSS-10 was investigated with a view to assess its suitability as a foundry moulding material. The sand sample was collected from a River Canal 2 ½ Furlongs west of Medical College Sector-12, Chandigarh. The sand is being used for making cores by the local foundrymen. The sand ’as received’, was dirty white in colour and medium to fine-grained in size.
