Abstract
Of the diverse factors contributing to economic and increased productivity in a modern foundry, the role of foundry sands and moulding materials is supreme. There is no metal product which perhaps presents greater difficulties in its successful fabrication as a sound metal casting. While the art of the molder is unquestioned, more important is the application of scientific control of diverse aspects of foundry technology is essential for the production of quality castings.
