Abstract

The sand mixture after mulling was passed through an I.S. 340 mesh sieve and were kept in air-tight bottles for at least three hours before testing. The moisture content of the mixture was calculated by the loss in weight method and was reported as a percentage of the weighed and mixture. For dry test results the A.F.S. standard 50mm x 50mm diameter specimens were dried in an oven for one and half hours between 105 and 110°C and cooled in a desiccator before testing.
