Abstract

This report records the results of investigations on reducibility of “beneficiated” iron ores from Joda, Badampahar, Gurumahisani and Noamundi. The reducibility studies have been made on cubical samples of 1c.m. edge from -2+1” beneficiated fractions by passing hydrogen at the rate of 1000 milli-litres per minute at 800°C. The results indicate that Joda and Noamundi II iron ore deposits possess lower reducibility characteristics than Badampahar, Gurumahisani and Noamundi I grade ores in each size grading. The reducibility characteristics of iron ores from Noamundi I, Badampahar and Gurumahisani are more or less similar.
