Abstract
A sample of limestone screen rejects received for beneficiation tests from Govt. Cement Factory, Churk, U.P., assayed 43.45% CaO, 30.31% CO2, 2.94% MgO, 21.09% SiO2, 6.0% Al2O3 amounts of quartz. Optimum conditions for the flotation of limestone were determined by using oleic acid as collector for limestone and sodium silicate as depressant for the gangue. Concentrates of 45.36% and 47.06% CaO contents with recoveries of 88.4 and 80% CaO respectively and suitable for cement manufacture could be successfully obtained from the rejects studied.
