Abstract

Electrolytic of aqueous extract containing potassium fluozirconate generally gives products, hydrolyzed to varying degrees depending upon the conditions used in electrolysis. Potentiometric, conductometric and analytic titration studies have been shown that hydrolysis proceeds stepwise, which explains the phenomenon of abnormally high current efficiency obtained in all electrolytic experiments. The characteristics of the electrolytic reaction have been briefly discussed. On the basis of these studies an electrolytic method for preparing zirconium, dioxide has been developed.
