Abstract

Seventeen Clays from Bihar, Bengal and Orissa have been studied. Their chemical analysis, refractories, particle size, bonding and firing characteristics have been determined. Most of the clays are coarse to medium grained, have poor workability and binding characteristics but develop good strength on firing. In general, their refractories under load are not very high.
