Abstract

A Sample of sandy limestone from vill. Pundras, Dt. Garhwal, U.P. assaying CaO, 35.10; MgO, 1.40; SiO2, 31.00; studied for its amenability to beneficiation to make it suitable for cement production. The principal minerals in the ore were calcite and quartz. Flotation tests employing sodium silicate, oleic acid and pine oil yielded products assaying about 46 to 48% CaO with recoveries of about 92 to 82 % respectively.
