Abstract
This investigation was undertaken to determine the suitability of Adjoy river sand for steel foundry purpose. The sample of Adjoy river sand was collected as a medium fine sand grade from the beds of the Adjoy river near Burdwan in West Bengal and was received from M/S Samla Collieries Ltd., Pandaveshwar in the districts of Burdwan. The sample in the as received state was pale brown in colour.
