Abstract
This investigation was undertaken for M/s premier Automobiles Ltd., Bombay for determining the suitability of snow white silica sand for casting grey iron and steel automobile components. The sand deposits occur in the taluks of Malvan and Kudal in the district of Ratnagiri in Bombay State. As the name implied the sand was snow white in colour.
