Moulding characteristics of yellow moulding sand

Abstract

This investigation on yellow moulding sand from Bhavnagar was sponsored by M/S Premier Automobiles Ltd., of certain automobile components. As received the sample contained plenty of gritty materials and hence, it was sifted through a 6 mesh sieve. That part of the sand passing through the sieve was taken for investigation purposes. The sample of sand investigated was pale brown in colour and contained 2.2% moisture content.
