Abstract
A preliminary investigation was carried out on the sample of bauxite supplied by M/s. Orissa Cement Co. Ltd., Rajgangpur, to assess its suitability as a refractory material. Bauxite is rarely used by itself as a refractory material. It is usually blended with suitable clays. Belpahar clay was used in this study in view of its proximity to the source of bauxite under investigation.
