Abstract
Six samples of silica sand were collected by M/s Hindustan Steel (Private) Ltd., Rourkela from different places on the banks of the river Brahmani, form the district of Sundergarh, Orissa, and the samples were designated as BT-9/2, BT-10, K-5,K-10, S-5, and S-10. The sand samples were investigated with a view to determine their suitability in their steel foundries.
