Abstract

The Structure of electrolytic nickel has been studied by x-ray diffraction method. The deposits were obtained from solutions of nickel sulphate and nickel chloride containing boric acid. The X-ray powder photographs of nickel deposits showed no evidence, whatsoever, for the existence of a hexagonal close-packed structure. All the deposits possessed a face-centered cubic structure.
