Abstract
This investigation was undertaken to determine the suitability of Hardwar sand for steel moulding purposes, after admixture with suitable binders. The deposits of Hardwar sand belong to the Pliocene and Miocene strate of the upper tertiary system. The sample of Hardwar sand was collected as sand grade from the beds of the river Ganges near Hardwar and was received from the Ordnance Factory, Muradnagar. As received, the sample was light grey in colour and contained perceptible amount of mica.
