Recovery of gold from old tailings from Kundrakocha, Bihar, assaying 8.6 dwt. Gold/ton has been studied. Tailing of the material as received recovers only 51.2 percent of gold in a concentrate assaying 43.6 dwt. gold/ ton. Direct cyanidation of the sample ground to minus 100 mesh extracts 94.2 percent gold, the consumption of cyanide being only 0.02 lb./ton of ore.
