Abstract
The two following samples of Taljahari sand were received from M/s. Tata Locomotive & Engineering Co., Ltd., Jamshedpur on 30.08.54:- !.Silica sand & 2. Off-grade silica sand This laboratory was required to undertake:- 1. Silica sand 9-20 + 100): To perform the grain distribution of the sand using the standard AFA Tyler sieve and also to obtain fusion point of this sample. 2. Off-grade silica sand: To screen sample through a 20 mesh screen and -20 products to be washed free of clay and sieve analysed similar to sample I above. Also to determine its fusion point and compare the results with sample No.1.
