Preliminary Report on the possibility of lowering Phosphorous in three Iron ore samples from Madhya Pradesh

Abstract

In connection with an undertaking of large-scale smelting trials at the L.S. F. P., National Metallurgical Laboratory with the iron ores and other raw materials from M.P., a meeting was held at the National Metallurgical Laboratory between the representatives of M. P. Audyogic Vikash Nigam Ltd. and N.M.L. one of the decisions was to under in N.M.L. the petrological examination of three iron ore samples for identifying the phosphorous bearing minerals and the extent of their interlocking with iron minerals. It was also decided that if the petrological tests are encouraging detailed beneficiation tests may be undertaken later at N.M.L. for bringing down the phosphorous in the ores.
